THE ESSENCE OF ROMANCE Psychoanalyst Fabienne Kraemer, author of 21 Clés pour l’Amour Slow, (21 Keys for Slow Love, Editions PUF), believes that « in Paris, love pulsates at all times ; the theme of ‘close encounters’is omnipresent. » On any Friday night in Paris, from restaurants in the Batignolles neighborhood to bars on the Rue Oberkampf, one witnesses nascent scenes of love. « For the French more than others, love features prominently in conversation and is an integral part of life, » she says. People here seem more relaxed about it than even in New York.
