Fidèle à sa vocation universelle, la 129e édition du Carnaval aura pour thème « les cinq continents ». En hommage aux jeux qui réuniront à Nice, en septembre prochain, 75 pays, la Francophonie sera son invitée d’honneur. Comme chaque année, sa Majesté Jera son entrée le vendredi soir, place Masséna, accompagnée de sa reine et suivie d’un millier d’enfants des écoles de la ville, pour annoncer vingt jours de Jestivités, comme un voyage dans letemps et l’espace. Le Carnaval engagé dans le développement durable La démarche écologique se poursuit plus que jamais, notamment, en choisissant des entreprises éco-labellisées, qui intègrent le recyclage dans leurs prestations ainsi que letractage électrique des voitures utilisées lors des batailles des fleurs. Dimanche 17 février : l’évènement sportif de la 129e édition La grande nouveauté de cette édition est le « Rock’n’Roll 10 miles du Carnaval » qui allie course et musique, organisé par des spécialistes du marathon urbain. Il est suivi du « bain du carnaval » où les volontaires se jettent à l’eau, en maillot ou déguisés. Ces deux manifestations sont à vocation caritative au profit de l’enfance. Committed to sustainable development The Carnival organisers have further emphasised their commitment to protecting the environment by choosing eco-certified partners who include recycling in their services and using electric vehiclesto draw the Battle of Flowers floats. Sunday, February 17th : sport joins in This 129th edition adds an extra dose of fun with the Rock’n’Roll 10 Miles Carnival race run to music, organised by the Rock'n' Roll Marathon Series's urban marathon experts. This will be followed by a Carnival Swim when volunteers bravethe waves in swimsuits or fancy dress. Both these events are in aid of children's charities.
