Eight years ago Richard Mille superbly earned his renown as a pioneer by bringing out two watches, the RM 001 and RM 002. Unanimously hailed by press and public alike, these two creations pushed back the boundaries of watchmaking as much through their design and mechanical inventiveness as by the materials used. Over and above their amazing originality, they opened the door to a new way of approaching watchmaking that was to energise and modify the very essence of this centuries-old art.
