Two of these are played by the offbeat Atmen Kélif and Edouard Baer himself in the role of the unpredictable Mr Castang, an oddball who dreams of conquering Hollywood but since he hasn’t made it to the big screen is chasing after a producer who’ll offer him the role of his life. Formée après l’apartheid par Richard Loring, cette troupe est révélée lors de sa représentation dans la cellule de Nelson Mandela à la prison de Robben Island afin de célébrer le passage au troisième millénaire. Ce spectacle, symbole d’une évolution, a parcouru le monde et arrive enfin en France. Après son passage au Casino de Paris, les couleurs d’African Footprint envahissent la salle de La Palestre, le 14 novembre. Les vitrines ornées d’enseignes lumineuses et de couronnes mortuaires donnent le ton de l’événement. Une fois à l’intérieur, tables de jeux, néons rouges, portraits de mafieux, enseignes au design et au nom du casino vous plongent au cœur d’une atmosphère chargée et enfumée. En suivant les seize autoportraits d’entraîneuses et les serviettes brodées à leurs pseudonymes, vous pénétrez dans la seconde partie de l’exposition : une officine « off ». Salle d’aisance, minibar, scène de concert ou de strip-tease, tout y est. Inutile de sortir sa carte de crédit, aucune mise n’est à rafler.
