La famille Meylan a toujours eu un faible pour le monde de l’aviation : le père pilote d’avion et les fils, l'un pilote et l'autre parachutiste, en sont la preuve. Voilà pourquoi la bijouterie Lionel Meylan partage une relation privilégiée avec la Manufacture Breitling, fabricant de montres professionnelles pour pilotes. Afin d'exprimer ce lien, Lionel Meylan offre, lors de l’achat d’une montre Breitling, un baptême de l’air à son propriétaire. En outre, la bijouterie a organisé, en collaboration avec l’Hostellerie de Genève, pour la Seaplane Pilots Association Switzerland (SPAS), un week-end inoubliable destiné aux amateurs d’aviation. Celui-ci, qui s’est déroulé du 3 au 5 septembre dernier, a rassemblé cinq hydravions, provenant de Bex jusqu'à Oslo. En temps normal, les hydravions n’ont pas l’autorisation d’amerrir sur le lac Léman, mais un accord exceptionnel a permis aux avions de le survoler et de s’y poser allègrement. Le public a également pu profiter du ciel lémanique en s’élançant à l’assaut des Alpes à bord d’un de ces oiseaux de fer. Le soleil, le calme plat du lac et la plage de sable de Vevey ont couronné ces trois jours de fête. Which is why Bijouterie Lionel Meylan enjoys a close relationship with Breitling, the celebrated maker of watches for professional aviators. Now Lionel Meylan is celebrating a passion shared with the famous Swiss watch house, by offering a free inaugural flight for purchasers of Breitling watches. The jewellery store also organized an unforgettable weekend for aviation lovers, in association with the Hostellerie de Genève and the Seaplane Pilots Association Switzerland (SPAS). From September 3 to 5, five seaplanes flew in from places as far afield as Bex and Oslo. Seaplanes are not normally permitted to touch down on Lake Geneva, but the planes were granted special permission to fly over the lake and ‘land’on its surface. Members of the public attending the event were able to take to the skies over the lake, and head for the Alps aboard one of these marvelous steel birds. Three days of sunshine, calm waters and fine sandy beaches at Vevey ! The event was a great success, to be followed by more soon – we hope !
