En 2066, les hommes se déplacent dans des cocons volants… Avec Cloud Planes, Pavel Pepperstein compose une nouvelle de science-fction que les voyageurs peuvent télécharger (www.artists4parisclimate2015.com/fr/artistes/pavel-pepperstein/), après avoir découvert une sculpture étonnante qui transforme le rêve en « presque » réalité. Pavel Pepperstein a reçu le prix Kandinsky en 2014. 20 Portable Cities, réalisé à partir de valises et vêtements usagés collectés par l’entreprise Next Textiles Association auprès des représentations diplomatiques françaises de pays membres du G20, mais aussi du V20, les plus vulnérables au changement climatique, évoque immeubles et monuments de 20 capitales. Avec Sewup a Sky, Yin Xiuzhen invite à « dessiner un ciel nouveau » pour les peuples et les nations. Yin Xiuzhen a représenté son pays à la Biennale de Venise en 2007. D’autres installations d’artistes contemporains venus du monde entier seront présentées – du centre de Paris au Bourget –, mais ces deux œuvres spécialement conçues pour COP21 et l’aéroport Paris-CDG sont à l’initiative de Artists 4 Paris Climate 2015 : la mobilisation se poursuivra le 9 décembre chez Christie’s à Paris lors de la vente aux enchères des œuvres au profit de la Convention-cadre des Nations unies sur les changements climatiques. COP21 lands in Paris-CDG In 2066, people will be traveling in fying shells : Russian author and artist Pavel Pepperstein has written a sci-f novel entitled Cloud Planes, which travelers can download (www.artists4parisclimate2015.com/fr/artists/pavel-pepperstein/) after exploring an amazing sculpture that makes the dream a nearreality. Pepperstein was awarded the Kandinsky Prize in 2014. 20 Portable Cities, made from suitcases and secondhand clothing collected by the company Next Textiles Association from French embassies in G20 countries, as wellas in V20 ones (those most vulnerable to climate change), create the buildings and monuments of 20 capital cities. With Sew Up a Sky, Yin Xiuzhen invites viewers to « draw a new sky » for people and for nations. Yin Xiuzhen represented China at the 2007 Venice Biennale. Other installations by contemporary artists from around the world will be setup between central Paris and Le Bourget. But the above two works, specially designed for COP21 and Paris-CDG airport, were launched by Artists 4 Paris Climate 2015. The initiative continues with an event on December 9 at Christie’s in Paris. All profts from this auction will beneft the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
